Patience
By W S Gilbert and Arthur Sullivan
Putteridge Bury G & S Society
Patience is the closest Gilbert & Sullivan could have got to a Benny Hill sketch! Bunthorne, the poet, is lusted after and followed by all the ladies in the village, although he would rather get his hands on Patience, the milkmaid. She has been told that love makes you unhappy and so she runs away only to be caught in an even worse situation! One of the funniest G&S Shows written, with great melodies, memorable characters and witty lines.
